Generally a bare landscape but the areas of snow that remain are generally bullet hard

Another fine day

The buttresses in Lochain and the Great Slab, all looking a bit sparse but some route do able
Pockets of windslab showing weakness underfoot due to a facet layer which lies in between a hard layer of windslab and the old neve beneath.

Aladdins Couloir is incomplete, the trident gully area looked a little more hopeful A very bare Mess of Potage, Jacobs Ladder is incomplete.
Some ice holding out on the flat ice area with usable snowfields between point five and Fiachaill Buttress

Bright and clear

Large snowfields remain on platea areas and NE to SE facing slopes after yesterdays thaw. The snow pack re-froze again today leaving a firm breakable crust.

Another mild day

The snow was melting fast at all levels today but large patches still remain like this one on the South-East side of Cairngorm

Improving conditions, Wintry.

Heading toward Strath Nethy from the North ridge of Cairngorm.

Whiteout conditions above 700m

The cloud level was low today so here is a view as we peered out through the clouds of the ski area and Loch Morlich

White out at 1000m, drifting snow built up to 3cm within half an hour.

Less windy but moist snow to high levels

Coire an t Sneachda

Scoured in many areas - moist snowpack and getting colder tonight and tomorrow.

Blizzards and stormy

Severe drifting continues with poorly bonded windslab in many places. Difficult conditions for navigation and observations in strong Northerly winds.

Snowfall increasing - Windy

Strong winds affecting a pair of climbers descending the Fiacaill a Choire Chais with care.

Heavy drifting onto east aspects where the poorly bonded windslab is forming - more snow tonight and tomorrow.
